This is not a ticket shop was a small design studio and gallery in Frankfurt am Main, Germany from 2013 until 2019. The studio/gallery was founded by Creative Director Claudio Gomez. I was part of the studio since its beginnings. Our service included brand development, motion design, illustration, post-production for a wide variety of agencies like Leo Burnett, Ogilvy and CPP...as well as for clients from the fields of culture, tech-start-ups, and finance like M.Neb, Escape Futura, Synerva, Graffiti Cans.
I was responsible for the design of digital and print products, prepress, photo editing, as well as for project management and the preparation of our exhibitions.

In cooperation with the publisher arsEdition I designed and produced a jubilee book for M.I.Hummel´s 80. Anniversary. The book covered the full history and development of the Hummel figurines and contained a catalog of works from their beginning. It is the most complete Collector´s Handbook worldwide and the reference for collectors. I was responsible for the creation of the whole book, covering the complete design and production process.

The app is a small but powerful training tool for pilots, especially for student pilots, who want to prepare for IRF (Instrument Rule Flights) flight training. It is the only one of its kind for tablets and smartphones, providing the real aircraft feel as it is a real IRF simulation. I was tasked to design the app.

Midoriso is a place where members from different professions, nationalities, interests come together to work freelance and collaborate on a project basis to pursue possible ways of future cooperation. Just like Tokiwa.so, the famous atelier where several manga masters worked before being recognized. Midori.so believes in the individual potential of each member.
I worked with Talents at this creative studio for almost one year from 2016-2017. It was filled with Graphic Designers, Illustrators, Film Makers, Writers, Architects, Motion Designers, and Artists.
Schleipen Papierfabrik approached me from Germany to come up with a name and subsequently help them to promote their new paper, Kamiko to Designers in Germany and Japan. Partnering with the innovative paper manufacture I came up with a concept for a roadshow that doesn’t just builts a bridge between Japan and Germany Design Culture, but also pays homage to Japan´s long history of paper culture and embraces the sensuality of paper. Artists and graphic designers from the Midori.so community were involved in the design of the merchandising products, contributing artworks for the Kamiko box and roadshow T-shirts.

For the English-Japanese Magazine, I met with personalities from the art industry and artists who were visiting and exhibiting in Tokyo. I took interviews, e. g. with the German publisher Gerhard Steidl at the Robert Frank Exhibition. Besides working as an editor I was also responsible for the design of parts of the Magazine.

Many years ago I fell in love with Tokyo. In 2013, I combined my passions: Tokyo, Photography, Print and Digital Design and started this project I called Tokyo Tadaima. Tadaima is a saying in Japan, when you come home, literally it means "now". I walked the streets and caught the beauty in the ordinary and the independent art scene with my camera, interviewed artists and designers who live in Tokyo about their work, passion and life in the city. The come-out was a photobook, website, and several exhibitions or in other words: A Roadmovie on Paper, On- and Offline.
Tokyo Tadaima—Art and Culture
Tokyo Tadaima is about Tokyo with a focus on the art scene and the ordinary. Is not a book. Is not a website. Is not an event. Is not an object. Is a platform for independent personalities and unique places. Is a source of inspiration. Real views and new concepts. Is a bridge between people from the creative heart in Tokyo to anywhere in the world to connect beyond cultural backgrounds. Is a statement. is always someones’ truth. Is an original. Is a portrait. Is a free spirit. Is a road movie on paper. Is close to every day. Is beauty in the ordinary. Is visual. Is an international language. Is beyond the high-rise neon lights stereotypes. Is independent. Unique. Real. Tokyo Tadaima is Tokyo Tadaima.

Tokyo Tadaima—Roadmovie on Paper
It was not only my own journey. Additionally, I asked befriended locals of the art scene to send me their photographs with notes about their secret and favourite places and things which express: What is Tokyo for you? So the book is a visual mix of styles and living and lifestyle concepts in Tokyo - like the city itself.
